Irving M. Asher, MD

Dr. Asher received his medical degree from Yale University, School of Medicine, in 1974. He completed his neurology residency at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1978. Dr. Asher is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the Clinical Sleep Society and the Movement Disorder Society. He specializes in the treatment of movement disorders and sleep medicine.


Allyn L. Sher, MD

Dr. Sher received his medical degree from Boston University, School of Medicine, in 1982. He completed his neurology residency at the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois in 1986. Dr. Sher is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Society of Neurorehabilitation. He specializes in the treatment of strokes, multiple sclerosis, and dizziness. He is also the medical director for the stroke center.


David L. McLaren, MD

Dr. McLaren received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine, in 1980. He completed his neurology residency and neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois in 1987. Dr. McLaren is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Sleep Disorders Association. He specializes in the treatment of epilepsy, neuropathy, and sleep medicine. He is also the director of Boone Hospital Center's EEG laboratory and sleep lab center, Advanced Sleep Labs.


Joel I. Shenker, MD, PhD

Dr. Shenker received his medical degree and doctorate from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1998 and 1997 respectively.  He completed his neurology residency in 2002 at the Univeristy of Virginia School of Medicine.  His fellowship in Behavioral and Cognitive Neurology was completed at the University of Florida in 2003.  Dr. Shenker is is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and specializes in memory loss, dementia, and neuro-cognitive behavioral impairments.  He is medical director of Rehabilitation Services at Boone Hospital Center and Cognitive Functioning Services and Neurology Staff Education. Neurology, Inc. is pleased to welcome Dr. Shenker to Columbia August 2005. 
 

Justin Malone, MD

Dr. Justine Malone, MD

Dr. Malone received his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2002.  He completed neurology residency at Saint Louis University in 2006, followed by fellowship training in Neuromuscular Diseases and Clinical Neurophysiology with additional training in electromyography at Washington University in Saint Louis in 2007. Dr. Malone is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.  He practices general neurology with an emphasis on disorders of the muscle and peripheral nervous system, and electrodiagnosis of those disorders, including electromyography and nerve conduction testing. 


Janet I. Samuels, RN, MSN, FNP, BC, CNRN

Janet Samuels received her nursing diploma from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Kansas City. She then completed her BSN from Webster University in St. Louis, and her MSN, FNP was completed at the University of Missouri Columbia. She has twenty five years of experience in neuroscience nursing, is board certified by the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, and certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurse's Association. Janet is recognized as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Missouri. Her special areas of interest are dementia, epilepsy, and spasticity.
